[00:00:00] Foreign. [00:00:08] I have, am in my study and I have been listening to a podcast which. [00:00:15] Which got me wondering, got me going down the rabbit hole. And there's this great revelation that I really want to share with you. [00:00:23] I've written on it and then it'll probably be on Friday. [00:00:28] It will be. Probably be posted on Friday. But I couldn't let the opportunity go by without saying something about it. [00:00:36] You know, when the Holy Spirit reveals something to us, we should never keep it to ourselves. [00:00:43] God wants us to share and to keep our call. [00:00:47] Put it with a friend or put it with your spouse so that they can through you see the miracles of God. [00:00:56] Now listen to this. [00:00:59] In 2 Samuel 21, verse 15, there is this. [00:01:09] There is this war zone, right, where David. [00:01:14] It starts by saying, once again, there was a battle between the Philistines and Israel. David went down with his men to fight against the Philistine and he became exhausted. I want to stop right there. It says once again. Because if you, if you just page a few pages back or if you go as far back as 1 Samuel where David defeated Goliath, you have to ask yourself, why after he defeated Goliath, would this carry on? [00:01:46] I mean, in my mind, I always knew there was wars, but I wasn't so aware of the fact that David never stopped fighting with the Philistines. [00:01:57] And then comes the Bible, and it opens this paragraph with once again. [00:02:03] So there are many things that we can take from here. Once again, because it was another Philistine, he just looked different. [00:02:16] Once again, because it's the same. [00:02:21] It's the same war, it's the same devil. [00:02:25] You are different. [00:02:29] It's the same addiction, it's the same temptation. [00:02:33] It's the same. [00:02:37] It's the same everything. You know, it cut its head off. And we are 100% sure that we threw this through this season, through this, whatever it is that held you back down. And then a few years down the line, it sticks out his head again. [00:02:52] And then we want to conquer it with a slingshot, because that worked the first time around. [00:03:00] I took this giant's head with five little stones, a slingshot, many moons ago. [00:03:07] And now it's not working. [00:03:09] And now we are frustrated. [00:03:11] So the Bible goes on. You know, it says, and David became exhausted. [00:03:18] Just think about that in the midst of a war, after being anointed as king, he's in that war and he's exhausted. His back is up against the wall. [00:03:30] And one tries to wonder, nothing is supposed to happen to him because he's God's anointed, right? [00:03:37] It doesn't work that way. [00:03:39] We are God's anointed, but we do become exhausted. [00:03:43] And if we don't constantly replace our weapons so that we are ready for the next battle, we will become exhausted and. And our walls will be up against the wall. Our backs will be up against the wall. [00:04:01] So we cannot fight new battles with old weapons. [00:04:05] The same devils will keep on rising. But you cannot use yesterday's slingshot. [00:04:12] So I made some notes for actually for you there. [00:04:20] You cannot bring a slingshot to a sword fight. You know, it goes on to say that the enemy, David's enemy, is to be Benob. He had a new sword. Look at that. [00:04:32] Not just. [00:04:34] Not just an old rusty one. He had a new sword, same enemy, new sword. [00:04:40] Isn't this clearly showing to us that God wants us to upgrade our weapons so weapons can be different for each of us? It can be worship, it can be obedience, it can be simply walking away from something. Those are all weapons. It's not necessarily the fight. [00:05:02] You know, when you were 12 or 15 years old and you seeked attention and you acted in a certain way, it got you detention, which helped to get your attention. [00:05:16] That's very same behavior now can cost you a job or your marriage. [00:05:24] Looking for attention in the wrong ways because you were sure you defeated that giant. [00:05:30] You need new weapons. [00:05:35] You know, David was exhausted. [00:05:39] I love the word, but in the Bible, I love that word. [00:05:43] I always circle it in my Bible. See? Circled. [00:05:48] So it goes on to say, David was exhausted. But Abishai son of Zerui, came to David's rescue. He struck down the Philistine and killed him. Then David's men swore to him, saying, never again will you go out with us to battle so that the lamp of Israel will not be extinguished. Now look at this. [00:06:09] I want to show it to you. [00:06:12] It opens up with once again, five rows down, it says, never again. [00:06:21] How cool is that? That was the revelation for me once again, where David just goes and says, once again, I'm in this battle. [00:06:31] God sends, Abishai, removes him, helps him, rescues him, because he was up against the wall, he was exhausted. [00:06:40] And God says to him, never again. [00:06:44] Because what you have on your life needs to be preserved. [00:06:47] So I'm not going to send you to do certain things. We're going to keep your hands up high. [00:06:53] How many times have God sent you an Abishai to help you, to get you out of certain situations that you're not supposed to be in? [00:07:01] It's not always about the fight. Sometimes we need to step back so that our legacy can go on, so that others can see that we serve God wholeheartedly and so that we can get to this Never again Part the word in 2 Samuel 21 verse 15 to verse 18. You can go and read it. It'll bless your heart. It starts with Once again say and ends up with never again. [00:07:30] Never again will you be able Will he be needed to defeat those enemies? Never again. [00:07:36] Because God sent him an abishai. [00:07:39] So I just wanted to bless you with that. [00:07:42] Go read it. I wrote about it. I left some scriptures there, and I really do hope that that it makes you smile as much as much as it did me. It was such a revelation when I read this. [00:07:55] Anyways, bless you.
